So this week is another special episode, which focuses on the Adelaide AVcon (anime and video game convention). A few of the nerdier GFAF members discuss their time at the event and play some interviews they recorded with people attending the convention. This episode is a LOT nerdier than the usual GFAF episodes, but don't fret if you are not really into all things nerdy, this is just a special episode and the first experiment doing roving interviews.
[0:36] "General Chitchat" - The GFAF gang catch up over some general chitchat. We hear how Lexus' Europe trip went and hear a crazy story from Leroy.
[7:56] "Leroy's Loopy News" The news this week covers vasectomy operations with live audiences in Adelaide and the usefulness of a new product; hairy socks.
[13:44] "Tour Idiot!" Stories from the different members of the podcast where they have encountered idiotic tourists.
[21:01] "Gen Y would you do that?!" Issues that have come up in the GFAF gang's lives that they can attribute to the Gen Y culture.
[29:50] "8 Smile" A lighthearted rap battle tournament.
[43:05] "Poop-ventures" Awkward bathroom related stories.
[53:24] "Twitter Questions" The GFAF gang answer listener's questions from any topic imaginable.
The boys get around a guitar and sing their first song this episode, audio bliss.
They also squeeze in a fair few topics, including; terrible public transport stories (just when you didn't think your opinion of Fez could get any worse), birthday memories, headphone implants, the pros and cons of playing different sports naked and the lack of public holidays at this time of the year (including ideas for new holidays to fill the void). We won't lie, the segways are a bit rough between these topics on this episode, but we promise a few a laughs during the discussion.
This episode the GFAF crew have prepared some hilarious segments (and one very average movie review segment, chaired by Fez). These segments include;
"Loopy News" - ocular fetishes and pump up dicks are the stories.
"F#@k You Masterchef" - ingredients are given to each host and they have to come up with an idea for a new TV show using these ingredients.
"Fish's Firsts" - the lads discuss their first job, first encounter with a lady and first time getting drunk.
"One Liner Shiners" - Each GFAF member pulls a one liner and a demographic of people to say this one liner to from a hat (to be completed by next pod).
"Fez's Movie Reviews" - not as lame as it sounds.
"Twitter Questions" - the questions get pretty dark this episode.
This episode the GFAF crew put their debating caps on as they tackle "Biggie vs Tupac", "Holden vs Ford" and of course "Seafood vs Landfood". Other topics discussed include; disgraceful parenting, new nightclub (and sandwich bar) ideas, and the story of a man who was caught having sex while drink driving.
Sadly this week the GFAF crew say goodbye to Tyson, at least for the near future. However, we have found a replacement in the form of Fish. So join the remaining GFAF members (apart from Lexus who is currently living it up in Europe!) as they get to know Fish while discussing topics including; 3D printers, fashion regrets, laws that should be abolished and the zombie apocalypse.
This episode focuses on the often absent Leroy, as we attempt to learn more about the man behind "Loopy News". There is more of an intimate setting on this episode as Leroy is joined only by Stephen (due in large part to short notice and trying to catch Leroy before he goes away again). The episode certainly has a different vibe to it, and while perhaps not as many laughs as other episodes, certainly accomplishes what it sets out to do...learn more about the Mystery Malaysian, Leroy.
Credit for audio used goes to SoundChris, check him out on newgrounds!
To celebrate reaching double figures, the boys play a drinking game on this episode, as a result they are more relaxed, but it would be fair to say the quality suffers. Topics discussed on this episode include; lost in translation stories (quickly turns to a brag session), underage drinking, selling out and interpreting the 10 commandments for our information age...oh and the slap is back!
This week we are missing Fez as well as Leroy (though don't fret Loopy News is still there). Missing Fez, the GFAF crew find themselves frustrated without having him to rip on and conversation often turns to fighting or erections. Other topics discussed include pro wrestling, childhood reflections (favourite video game etc), the classic 150 Pokemon and a machine the japanese have invented which allows people to project their dreams on a TV screen.
This week join the Good Friends and Fez crew as they discuss; the awkward first time you meet your partner's parents over dinner, what it would be like to have fine dining in McDonalds, present a new video game concept, the happening town that is Adelaide, fictional porn stars and the classic movie, Die Hard. This episode goes from very nerdy at times, to very sexual towards the end.
